Meet Aquarium of the Bay's otter-able new residents

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The Aquarium of the Bay’s newest residents are attracting quite a housewarming.  The aquarium welcomes the romp river-otters to their new otter den for the next several months.


Trainers allow the otter’s to build their own habitat, giving them a variety of logs, wood chips and rocks to make them feel at home.  On a visit, you can see the playful members of the weasel family train, splash, dive and wrestle.


River otters are found in rivers, lakes, estuaries and are common in the bay area.


According to the aquarium, their mission is to “Working to protect, restore and inspire the conservation of San Francisco Bay and its watershed – from the Sierra to the sea.”
