AN appeal for information has been launched after thieves netted more than 20 prized Koi carp fish from the Chestfield Barn.


The pub in Chestfield near Whitstable is hoping to hook the culprits responsible for the thefts of the ornamental cold-water fish.


The 14th century pub is known for its stunning Koi carp pond.


Gardeners noticed on Wednesday morning that some of the larger gold, white and yellow Koi carp in the pond were missing and it’s believe as many as 20 valuable fish have been taken.


The fish, around a foot in length, are about 15 years old.


Mature Koi carp are much sought after by collectors, from £20 being paid for six-inch fish, up to as much as £2,000 for three-foot long fish.
