GREENSBORO, N.C. — The Greensboro Science Center is rehabbing four green sea turtles after approximately 600 were found cold-stunned off the North Carolina coast last week, according to a news release from the Center.
The Center received the animals this week and will provide rehabilitation for about three weeks. The aquarium and veterinary team will monitor the turtles, track their weight and administer any necessary medical assistance.
According to the Center, the North Carolina Aquarium rescued a number of the turtles upon their discovery. Many of the turtles were already rehabilitated and released while others need more help.
The North Carolina Aquarium asked the Greensboro Science Center for help in a statewide effort to help these turtles recover.
The Center said the turtles will not be on exhibit for visitors to view but you can find updates with photos and footage on its Facebook page.
