It’s time to get healthy Corpus Christi! The Nueces County Medical Society is helping out for free! On Saturday, August 1 from 9am – 2pm, over 100 specialty exhibitor booths will focus on wellness. There will be free immunizations, physicals, child safety resources, and vital screenings. There will even be a Hard Hats for Little Heads station which offers free bicycle helmets and fittings for kids. The event is being held at the American Bank Center. The Aquarium at Rockport Harbor is holding Aquafest Saturday, August 1 from 10am – 6pm. The festival will feature activities for the whole family geared to entertain and educate children. The fun includes a fishing booth, ping pong toss, putt putt golf and more. Admission is $2 which will go towards the Aquarium. Children 6 and under are free. Texas A&M Corpus Christi’s theater and dance departments will present the award winning children’s show “Mother Hicks”. The play is about three outsiders and an eccentric recluse, Mother Hicks. The tale, told with poetry and sign language, chronicles the journeys of the three to find themselves and each other during the great depression. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6.50 for children. It’s time for some dodge ball! Dewey’s Beer Garden is holding the No One Fights Alone Dodge Ball Tournament on Saturday, August 1. It’s all for a good cause. Join the Pirates of the Red Dragon on a Special 21 + Saturday Night Party Cruise! Enjoy drink specials, dancing, and pirate shenanigans.
